The new public safety training center will be installed the 1st week of June

GUILFORD, CT – The new modular structure at the Public Safety Training Center will be installed the first week of June.

Announced by the Guilford Fire Department via Facebook, the training facility will be at the rear of the Church Street Public Safety Complex.

“The installation of this facility is an approximately two-year capital project and serves as a symbol of the strong partnership and collaboration between the two agencies to continue to provide high quality public safety services to the City of Guilford. , the fire department’s Facebook post reads.

“The training center will be located at the rear of the Guilford Public Safety Complex and will serve as a venue for local agencies as well as regional public safety partners to ensure continued compliance with industry best practices, accreditation standards and insurance requirements.

For the fire department, the training center will serve as a location for live burns, building searches, roof ventilation operations and firefighter safety procedures.

For the police department, the training center will provide a venue for a wide variety of scenario-based training, including active shooter, de-escalation and use of force.

With the upcoming installation of the training center, the public should expect some minor delays as the modular structure is delivered to the Public Safety Complex beginning June 1. There will also be a large crane on site during installation to maneuver the modular sections into place.

The Guilford Fire Department and the Guilford Police Department thank everyone in advance for their patience.”
