ATP Flight School unveils new airline pilot training center in Arlington

ATP Flight School unveils a new 25,875 square foot airline pilot training facility at Arlington Municipal Airport (GKY) with a grand opening on October 8, 2021. Join ATP’s national network of 70 locations , the Arlington flagship facility is the largest in Texas and ready to meet the demand for pilots from Dallas-based airlines.

Every aspect of the new building is designed to effectively deliver full immersion airline pilot training. Students in ATP’s Airline Transport Pilot Career Program start with zero experience and graduate as Commercial Multi-Engine Pilots and Flight Instructors in just seven months. Pilots graduating on this accelerated schedule are in a competitive position to take advantage of a post-pandemic pilot shortage and quickly establish their careers.

Students at Arlington Training Center fly the latest technology, including Cessna 172 Skyhawks and Piper Archers equipped with Garmin G1000 NXi. To meet growing demand, ATP is joining this fleet with deliveries of new factory Pipers. A co-located ATP maintenance facility serves the fleet and ensures dispatch reliability so that students get trained on time.

ATP is the only school in Dallas capable of offering airlines a complete pilot training solution, with ATP JETS nearby at Irving. The Part 142 Airline Training Center complements initial pilot certification in Arlington and is one of the largest Airline Transport Pilot Certification Training Program (ATP) providers, having graduated nearly 10,000 airline pilots.

“The ATP Flight School Airline Pilot Training Center is an exciting addition to Arlington. This flagship facility at Arlington Municipal Airport will help so many realize their American dream, whether it’s becoming a commercial pilot or teaching others to fly, ”said Deputy City Manager of ‘Arlington, Jim Parajon. “We look forward to the school’s continued success as it builds on decades of work to prepare the pilots of tomorrow. “

ATP’s presence in Texas for 35 years has been instrumental in finding airline pilots for Dallas-based airlines. More alumni have been hired by American Airlines than any other major airline, and more than 650 graduates have gone on to fly for the Dallas-based American Eagle airline, Envoy Air. The advanced capabilities and resources of the Arlington Training Center will actively support all Dallas-based airlines for years to come as they increase pilot recruitment.
